Requirements

1. Trademark Applications

    • Applicant's full name and address

    • Specification of goods and services classified in accordance with international classification system (Brazil adopted the 8th edition of NICE Classification)

    • One any size print for design or word mark of a special typographical character

    • Power of Attorney (neither notarization nor legalization)

2. Assignments, Licenses, Changes,etc

    • Power of Attorney (neither notarization nor legalization)

    • Suitable evidence, e.g. Assignment Document , Licence Agreement, Official Deed indicating the change to be recorded, etc. For assignment also an Affidavit stating that the signatory is the legal representative of the Assignor, duly notarized and legalized before the brazili an consulate.

3. Patent, Utility Model and Design Applications

    • Specification, claims, abstract and drawings (for Design only drawings and the statement as to the type)

    • Power of Attorney (neither notarization nor legalization)

    • Assignment, if necessary

    • Full name, domicile and address of applicant and inventor

4. National entry of an International patent application (PCT - Chapter I or II - both 30 months from the international filing date)

    • Copy of the complete PCT application (Request, specifications, claims, drawings
      and abstract)

    • Copy of the PCT publication

    • Copy of the International Search Report

    • If so, copies of the Demand and of the Preliminary Examination Report and of any Amendments

5. Priorities: a certified copy

6. Belated filings

    • POA = 60 days; Priority document = 60 days if PCT, 90 days for Industrial Design, 4 months for Trademark and 180 days for Patent.
